Once I decided that more was possible, I created a list of all my skills, the things I knew I could do, all the jobs I’d had in the past, and all those missed opportunities that had once sparked my interest.
Here was the deal, though: whichever new endeavor I was going to choose, it had to satisfy all of the following conditions:
- A schedule that wouldn’t clash with my full-time job
- An initial investment that fit within my budget, even if I didn’t make a return on investment
- An opportunity to learn something new and interesting to me, that would allow me to continue to grow as a person, and at the same time make a difference in someone’s life
Ultimately, the last condition was really important. Because life’s too short for anything less!
The list is quite long, as you can see.
Looking back, I must confess this was a bittersweet, nostalgic exercise.
