Summer has come and gone – yesterday I turned on my heat! Before we know it, Christmas will be here again. It’s been a busy year for me, and along the way, a few things have slipped through the cracks.
It’s easy to get caught up in the day-to-day demands of life, telling ourselves that we’re too busy to pursue one thing or another. But have you ever noticed how the things we truly want to do somehow always find their way into our schedules? No matter how busy we are, we always seem to make time for them.
Think about it: what are the things you naturally gravitate toward when you’re free? Is it watching a movie, reading a book, or going for a walk? Is it spending time with a loved one, enjoying quiet moments by yourself, or learning something new? What are the things that, even in the midst of a hectic schedule, you somehow make time for?
If you want to uncover what’s truly important to you, what you genuinely value, take a step back and closely examine how you spend your time.
We naturally prioritize the things that are important to us, sometimes without even realizing it. On the flip side, if there’s something we keep saying we want to do but never actually make time for, it’s worth asking ourselves why. Is it truly something we’re passionate about, or is it just something we think we should be interested in? There’s a difference between what we think we should do and what we actually want to do. The things we truly love and value, we find time for with no excuses and no delays.
Take a moment to reflect on your own life. What do you have time for? What do you consistently make room for, even when time is scarce? These are the clues to what you really love and care about. So don’t feel bad about the things that slipped through the cracks.
In the end, how we spend our time is a reflection of what’s in our hearts.
