This is a post about travel in time — past and future. As I just returned from a long road trip, a long-awaited and well-deserved vacation meant to be a pause from life’s usual rhythm, past and future.
Coming back to a stack of mostly unopened emails, I found something I had been waiting for quite some time. An email with an official letter confirming that, as of 23 October 2025, I have been awarded a Master of Science (with Merit) in Psychology of Mental Health and Wellbeing from the University of Wolverhampton.
The date, 23 October, was what struck me. October 23, 2000, was the day I lost a piece of myself — the day my father passed away. That day has always carried a quiet weight, a mixture of lingering grief and remembrance. And yet, what are the odds that 25 years later, the same date marks a completely different milestone — one of achievement, personal growth, and learning?
Truth be told, so much of my lifelong curiosity and love of learning I owe to my father. His own path and values shaped the way I approach life and personal growth. That the day of my degree confirmation coincides with the day I lost him feels like a full-circle moment.
After all the ups and downs, this journey of study has been profoundly transformative. It has deepened my understanding of what it takes to live happier, healthier lives and inspired me to continue my own growth while helping others on theirs. Strangely, the more you learn, the more you realize how little you truly know.
As I continue to walk my multi-layered path — personally and professionally — I feel inspired to deepen this new knowledge and share it with others, whether in teams, at work, or individually through coaching.
So here’s to learning, remembering, and honoring the people who shape us — and to carrying their spirit forward into meaningful action.
