I still remember the day my broker, Ron, approached me with the offer. I had just bought my house in Buffalo, and I was surprised when he asked me to work with him as a real estate salesperson. I wasn’t ready for that opportunity at the time. I had a lot of misconceptions about what it meant to be a real estate salesperson.
You know how life works, right? It loves throwing surprises at us. Well, fast forward 16 years, and I found myself exploring that very same opportunity. Real estate has always intrigued me for numerous reasons, and my own experiences and interactions with real estate agents gave me some insights into the industry. Then, one day, it dawned on me that I didn’t have to be a salesperson to help people find their dream homes.
It’s funny how our perspectives change over time, and how the path we once overlooked can suddenly become appealing. It’s got me thinking about missed opportunities and untapped potential because of our blind spots and limiting beliefs.
I often wonder, what Ron saw in me back then that I couldn’t see? Unfortunately, he’s not with us anymore to shed some light. But I’m grateful for the shift in my mindset, the opportunity to take my real estate knowledge to the next level, and the chance to meet and connect with some great new people.
