I have no idea how it happened… Memorial Day… almost summer again. The days blur into weeks, the weeks into months, and before we know it, another year has passed, leaving us wondering where all the time went.
Remember the thrill of swinging as high as you could, building castles in the sand, or simply running around with friends playing hide and seek? Or those times when you were doing mischievous, childish things? Back then, you were spontaneous, adventurous, and full of imagination. It was how you explored the world, connected with others, and expressed yourself freely… playing.
But as adults, we lose touch with our playful spirit. Responsibilities, societal expectations, and the pressures of adult life take center stage. Life gets way too serious. We think twice before we do anything, watch every single word we say, and overthink everything. It doesn’t sound like much fun to me.
I dare you to release your inner child. Dance in your kitchen while cooking, roll on the carpet with your pet, or draw doodles during your meeting. Let go of deadlines and the obsession with productivity. Step out of your comfort zone and try new things. It’s the only solution to releasing stress and bringing back joy.
Infuse your life with fun and creativity, just like when you were a child. Take a cue from your younger self and remember: play is the way to a happier, healthier, and more vibrant you.
And while I’m giving advice to you, I’m giving advice to myself too, as I’ve been glued to my chair for hours… working on my projects… building castles in the sand.
Ella, this was great. We miss you…….
Thank you, Jim, miss you too!
